The Experience Centre at Tårnplass

_J5A7450

Polestar opened its new space at Tårnplass in downtown Bergen on 17 December 2020. More than a year later, Polestar is now able to demonstrate good developments in customer visits, market share and talented employees!

From Pop-Up to Showroom

Kjetil Langsæther was the first head of Frydenbø High Performance Electric Cars, the company which Polestar belongs to. We started with a pop-up at Grieghallen, but business picked up speed after we moved into the newly renovated Polestar Space at Fortunen 7 – an experience centre for car enthusiasts at Tårnplass located in downtown Bergen. In October 2021, just one year after opening, Bawan Yaseen Omar took over the baton when Langsæther accepted another role at Frydenbø.

Bawan Yaseen Omar

Has been with Polestar since its first day in Norway

Bawan has been part of the Polestar team since August of 2019 when Polestar was first founded in Norway. He has worked as a product specialist and is well acquainted with the cool electric cars.

- My journey with Polestar since it opened its first Space and the incredible expansion we have seen in just a short time has been nothing less than magical. Everyday life at Polestar is exciting and fast-paced. We see constant progression and interest from the outside world, said Bawan Yaseen Omar, Space Manager at Frydenbø High Performance Electric Cars.

Experience Center – Not a sales office

The idea behind Polestar's Showroom is to let customers talk to product specialists rather than salesmen, to relieve any pressure the customers feel from the buying process. The employees here do not get a commission and are more like car buying consultants. Polestar Space will be a focal point for people interested in design, innovation and sustainability and a place where customers can get a look at cars in quiet surroundings, with the possibility of test driving.

Best in the world at converting customers from test drive to purchase

Polestar received some particularly pleasant feedback in June of 2021. They won the grand slam and were noticed; Bergen became the best Polestar Space in the world in terms of the purchase conversion rate; i.e. how many people buy cars compared to the number of test drives.

- The competition is heavy in Norway and internationally, which makes it extra difficult to receive this award. This required structured work and perseverance from every specialist on the team. We are working hard to achieve even better results in 2022, Bawan Yaseen Omar said with a smile. Omar is Space Manager at Frydenbø High Performance Electric Cars.

Collaboration with Mycar

- We have a fantastic collaboration going with MyCar in Western Norway. We ended up with many satisfied customers thanks to this. We also receive positive feedback on how we manage trade-ins through MyCar, Frydenbø and Kverneland's used car group, Omar said.

Frydenbø has an agent agreement with Polestar and is co-owner of MyCar Group together with Kverneland.

Successful car fair at Sotra

Polestar participated at the Sotra Motor Show for the first time in November 2021. This is Norway's largest auto show. Polestar acquired three new product specialists just before the show, which paid off in the form of a lot of visits to the stand and several cars sold.
