Frydenbø expands its cooperation with Sogndal!

Lagbilde Sogndal Herrer 2022

Frydenbø has been a sponsor for the super team in Sogndal since 2015. The newly established Sogndal women's football club is housed under the same roof, and we have now signed a sponsorship agreement with both the women's team and the men's team!

Contribution to Frydenbø's foothold in the region

Frydenbø Bil has three car centers in Sogn og Fjordane County (now part of Vestland County); Førde, Sandane and Sogndal. Frydenbø employes about 70 employees in the region. And with the acquisition of Berge & Co, even more will be joining us.

- We are actively partnering to build the Frydenbø brand in the regions where we are located, and our cooperation with Sogndal Football Club has contributed positively to making our car centre more known, not only for our customers. This cooperation is important in promoting Frydenbø as an employer. We see that working for a company that supports the local community is more and more important now, in the fight for tomorrow's workers, said Silje Ulla-Zahl, marketing and communications director at the Frydenbø Group.

Frydenbø also uses the matches as social activities within the company.

Stronger together

Sogndal wants to be a place where young people have equal access to football, regardless of whether they are a boy or a girl. That is why it was logical for Sogndal Football Club to take negotiate with various partners for the women's team to get some help at the start.

- Sogndal Fotball thinks it is very nice to have reached an cooperation agreement for the women's team. The fact that we can develop under the same roof and stadium is a good thing. We are stronger together and we can learn from one another now and in the future. Showing the local community and the region that we support each other is important and makes for good synergies on a regional and national level, said Terje Teigen, marketing manager at Sogndal Football.

Newly established women's team

The establishment of Sogndal FK Damer is the result of a collaborative project between Kaupanger IL and Sogndal IL Fotball. The team was formally established at the founding meeting on 8 September 2021, and the club took over the place of KIL in the 2nd division women's as of 01.01.2022.

The main goal of Sogndal women's football team is initially to establish the best possible arena for development of women and girls who want to invest in football.

- This is realised by good collaborators such as Frydenbø, as well as largely by getting Fosshaugane Campus as a match and training arena where most of the girls go to school – either at high school or college – said Sebastian Kaldstad, manager/sports director for Sogndal women's football club.

-The interest in women's football has increased in recent years, and it is especially nice that we also become a major partner of Sogndal FK Damer. This is an important initiative in a town like Sogndal that loves its football, and for women's football nationally – we are pleased that we are off to a great start! We are excited to follow the development of Sogndal FK Damer in the 2nd division, and are proud to be part of such a venture, Ulla-Zahl added.

History's toughest OBOS league

Women's football, Sogndal Football and not at least Fosshaugane Campus with all the opportunities available there, becomes more visible through the collaboration. It's a win-win situation when we can play with media coverage, on social media, in business and in other formal and informal settings.

- We strongly believe that through this cooperation we can show each others' strengths, while at the same time contributing to positive social development in Sogndal and in the area around us, said Terje Teigen, marketing manager at Sogndal Football.

- Sogndal Football is an A-team entering what is perhaps the toughest OBOS league in history. But with a new team of trainers and with Frydenbø on the team going forward, we will do everything we can to stay at the top. The goal is also to move up to the Premier League when we feel ready for it," said Terje Teigen, marketing manager at Sogndal Football.

- It is incredible to watch the development in Sogndal! We have had a positive cooperation for several years and we look forward to developing this more in the future, said CEO of the Frydenbø Group, Knut Herman Gjøvaag.
